Moodlog, LLC is an American software company that operates Moodlog, an AI-powered journaling platform described by the company as "research-driven emotion tracking".[1] It was founded by Devin Dyson, who began building the product in October 2025 and established the company on January 1, 2026.[2]
Users write freely, without templates or forms; the platform reads each entry, tags the feelings it finds, and surfaces emotions, people, and patterns in the writing and how they shift over time.[1] Following a 34-respondent user study, Dyson reframed the product from clinical habit-tracking to emotional-insight extraction.[2] The system pairs a fine-tuned RoBERTa emotion model with named-entity recognition to map entries across Plutchik's eight primary emotions, on a production platform built with Django, PostgreSQL, Docker, and AWS.[2]
The company is self-funded under a freemium, revenue-first operating plan, foregoing venture capital; it maintains a clinical and technical advisory board and has filed a federal trademark application for the brand.[2] Moodlog is positioned as "built for insight, not diagnosis" — explicitly not a replacement for therapy — and is private by default. As of mid-2026 access is invite-only.[1]
