Plotflow (stylized PLOTFLOW; Japanese: プロットフロー) is an independent pen-plotter studio founded by Devin Dyson, through which he works as a generative artist.[1] The studio produces Universal Century mobile suits — the mecha of the Gundam franchise — drawn in ink by machine and released as limited editions, signed and numbered.[1]
The studio's website carries the subtitle マシンドロー ("machine-drawn") and streams a live view of works in progress, with running readouts of plotting progress and ink drawn.[1] The practice connects the technical drawing Dyson first studied in high school engineering courses with his later career in software: each work is composed as code, then executed physically by machine, one continuous line at a time. His public repositories include forks of line-art and plotter tools such as ln, a 3D line-art engine, and plotter-vision, a hidden-wireframe-removal demonstration.[2]
